Playable Figure Made of Soft, Durable Material
A Vinyl Model of Pachycephalosaurus, distinguished by its domed skull and unusually thick bone at the top of the head. Made from child-friendly materials, it can be enjoyed safely in the living room or a child’s room.
Pachycephalosaurus
Classification: Ornithischia / Pachycephalosauria / Pachycephalosauridae
Size: Total length4〜10meters
Period: Late Cretaceous
Pachycephalosaurus lived in North America and Asia during the Cretaceous and belonged to the group often called “bone-headed dinosaurs.” It was the largest known member of this group, characterized by a thick, raised dome of bone on the top of its skull. It may have butted heads with others, although some researchers suggest the dome was primarily for visual display. As no complete skeleton has been found, much about its overall anatomy remains uncertain.
Interview with Supervisor Kazunari Araki
- Pachycephalosaurus, with its distinctive thick, domed skull, has joined the Vinyl Model series. Mr. Araki, what are your impressions of Pachycephalosaurus?
- The bone-headed dinosaur featured prominently in Jurassic World is a very unique and charming animal. Its head shape reminds me of my own, so I feel a special fondness for it (laughs).
- You sculpted the Pachycephalosaurus model. What story or ideas informed the sculpture, and what were the main challenges, highlights, or details you would like people to notice?
- Although Pachycephalosaurus was a herbivore, I imagined it as a tough fighter that used its thick skull as a weapon. Rather than giving it a gentle expression, I sculpted it as if it were about to headbutt an opponent.
- The Pachycephalosaurus Vinyl Model has a friendly yellow-based color scheme. What image or concept inspired this choice?
- I colored the hard, bony dome gray to evoke rock, then painted the rest of the body in contrasting colors. This makes the head look even harder.
- Finally,PachycephalosaurusAbout the Vinyl ModelPlease share your comments.。
- Pachycephalosaurus may have used its head as a weapon and stood up to carnivorous dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus. Buy two and let them compete for strength!
