Playable Figure Made of Soft, Durable Material
A Vinyl Model of Giganotosaurus, a dominant predator of Late Cretaceous South America. Discovered relatively recently, it is especially popular with younger dinosaur fans. Made from child-friendly materials, it can be enjoyed safely in the living room or a child’s room.
Giganotosaurus
Classification: Saurischia / Theropoda / Carcharodontosauridae
Size: Total length 12–14 meters
Period: Late Cretaceous
Giganotosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived in South America during the Late Cretaceous. Its fossils were first discovered in 1993, making it a relatively recently identified dinosaur. Its skull alone measured about 1.8 m. Although it was larger than Tyrannosaurus, its body was relatively slender, and its bite may not have been powerful enough to crush bone. Fossils of several individuals have been found together, leading to the suggestion that it hunted in groups and may have preyed on large sauropods such as Argentinosaurus.
Interview with Supervisor Kazunari Araki
- Giganotosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur of South America, has joined the Vinyl Model series. What are your impressions of Giganotosaurus?
- Giganotosaurus is especially popular among younger dinosaur fans, so I am delighted that it has finally joined the Vinyl Model series. It gives the impression of a large carnivore with sharp teeth, a huge head, and three-fingered forelimbs—features typical of Jurassic predators.
- You sculpted the Giganotosaurus model. What story or ideas informed the sculpture, and what were the main challenges, highlights, or details you would like people to notice?
- South American carnivorous dinosaurs such as Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus are characterized by enormous heads lined with fine, sharp, saw-like teeth. I emphasized this feature in the Vinyl Model as well.
- The Giganotosaurus Vinyl Model uses subdued green and orange overall. What impression do you get from these colors?
- I consider colors and patterns that will not overlap with other figures in the series. This combination is unique to the lineup and gives the impression of an animal that might live in the jungles of South America.
- Finally,Giganotosaurus About the Vinyl ModelPlease share your comments.。
- A dream battle between Giganotosaurus, South America’s largest carnivore, and Tyrannosaurus, North America’s largest, is possible with Vinyl Models—no matter how fierce the fight gets!
There are rumors that it may appear in the latest Jurassic World film, so its popularity could grow even more. Have fun playing with it!
