Collectible Dinosaur Figures Made with Soft Material
A PVC figure of Pachycephalosaurus, distinguished by its domed skull and unusually thick bone at the top of the head. Its collectible size makes it enjoyable both for play and display.
Pachycephalosaurus
Classification: Ornithischia / Pachycephalosauria / Pachycephalosauridae
Size: Total length4〜10meters
Period: Late Cretaceous
Pachycephalosaurus lived in North America and Asia during the Cretaceous and belonged to the group often called “bone-headed dinosaurs.” It was the largest known member of this group, characterized by a thick, raised dome of bone on the top of its skull. It may have butted heads with others, although some researchers suggest the dome was primarily for visual display. As no complete skeleton has been found, much about its overall anatomy remains uncertain.
Interview with Supervisor Kazunari Araki
- Pachycephalosaurus, with its distinctive thick, domed skull, has joined the Soft Model series. Mr. Araki, what are your impressions of Pachycephalosaurus?
- The bone-headed dinosaur featured prominently in Jurassic World is a very unique and charming animal. Its head shape reminds me of my own, so I feel a special fondness for it (laughs).
- What aspects of sculpting Pachycephalosaurus were challenging, and are there any details you would especially like people to notice?
- Although it belonged to the ornithopods, Pachycephalosaurus had a distinctive body shape, including its unusual head and broad pelvis, and I made sure to capture these features.
- What image inspired the pose?
- At first, I proposed a pose of two animals leaning forward as if about to butt heads. I was told that people would buy two, but the company president rejected the idea (laughs). Instead, I chose a pose that works well for collecting.
- The Pachycephalosaurus Soft Model uses vivid blue tones, a first for the Soft Model series. What image or concept inspired this choice?
- I chose a color that would not overlap too much with other dinosaurs in the Soft Model series while still expressing the character of the species. This purple color is quite innovative, isn’t it? (laughs)
- Finally,Pachycephalosaurus About the Soft ModelPlease share your comments.。
- Pachycephalosaurus is a unique-looking and charming dinosaur. Please add it to your collection—and why not buy two and stage a head-butting contest?
