Classification: Ornithischia/Ceratopsia/Ceratopsidae
Size: Total length7〜9 m
Period: Late Cretaceous
One of the largest ceratopsian dinosaurs, Triceratops lived during the Late Cretaceous and is highly recognizable alongside Tyrannosaurus. It is characterized by three long horns on the nose and above the eyes, from which its name is derived. Various theories have been proposed for the functions of the horns and the frill extending from the back of the skull over the neck, including intimidation and defense against predators, as well as territorial competition and courtship within the species.
Interview with Supervisor Kazunari Araki
- What differences did you want to create from the previous models when developing the brown version?
- I think the brown color and pattern bring out Triceratops’ heavy, powerful presence. I also like the green Triceratops, but I painted this version with an equally strong image in mind.
- Do you have any comments about the Triceratops Vinyl Model Brown?
- You’re the only one who can take down the red Tyrannosaurus! Please add the Triceratops Brown Version to your collection!
