Ankylosaurus was one of the largest and most representative armored dinosaurs. Its entire back, from neck to tail, was covered with numerous bony plates and spikes. Its skull was thick and robust, with triangular horns projecting from the rear. A hard, hammer-like bony club at the tip of its tail is thought to have been used to defend against attacks by carnivorous dinosaurs. Ankylosaurian teeth were very small and weak, and it is thought to have swallowed soft leaves whole and digested them internally.

- What are your thoughts on the Ankylosaurus Vinyl Model?
- Armored dinosaurs have broad bodies and a low profile like tanks, so a straightforward sculpt can easily look too docile. For this model, I raised its distinctive clubbed tail in an aggressive pose and gave the figure more height. The tail is positioned so that it would strike the face of a Tyrannosaurus or Spinosaurus. Ankylosaurids are usually ranked third or fourth in popularity among dinosaurs, but I think we have created a really cool armored dinosaur this time. Please add it to your collection and use its tail attack to drive away the carnivorous dinosaurs.
