Playable figures made of soft, durable material
This is a vinyl figure of Dimorphodon, a small pterosaur that lived in the Early Jurassic period. It reproduces characteristics such as its large head and long tail. It uses a material that is safe even for small children to touch, so you can safely play with it in the living room or children's room.

Classification: Class Reptilia / Order Pterosauria / Family Dimorphodontidae
Size: 1 meter in total length
Period of existence: Early Jurassic
Dimorphodon was a small pterosaur that lived in the Early Jurassic period. Its large head had a beak with two types of teeth, large and small, which are the origin of its name. Based on the shape of its jaw, the results of tooth analysis, and its low flight capability, it is thought to have preyed on fish, insects, and small vertebrates. Although its wings were small for a pterosaur, its fore and hind legs were well developed. It is believed to have used its legs to climb to high places, clinging to trees and cliffs with its claws, and then glided down towards its prey.
Interview with supervisor Kazunari Araki
- Dimorphodon has joined the ranks of pterosaur vinyl models. What is your impression of Dimorphodon, Mr. Araki?
- Among pterosaurs, many of which have sharp, long-beaked faces, Dimorphodon stands out with its stout, dinosaur-like face, giving me the impression of a small dragon.
- Please tell us about the challenges, highlights, and appealing points of sculpting the Dimorphodon vinyl model.
- Its distinctive head is lined with fangs that interlock. These were likely suited for quickly biting and holding insects and small animals in the air.
Another feature is its long tail, which is not seen in Pteranodon, for example. It is believed that the diamond-shaped tip of the tail helped it balance during flight. - The Dimorphodon vinyl model is finished in an overall orange color scheme. What image comes to mind when you see the finished product?
- Compared to the soft model, it's larger in size, and with its facial features, wing shape, and orange color, it looks like a baby dragon.
- Finally, please comment on the Dimorphodon vinyl model.
- Dimorphodon is actually a super famous pterosaur, appearing in dinosaur encyclopedias when I was a child and even in the movie "Jurassic World." Please welcome it into your home's dinosaur world.
