"Always Together" Cute Dinosaur Plush Mascot
This is a mini Spinosaurus mascot with a ball chain, featuring its distinctive sail on its back and elongated head, all condensed into an adorable, deformed form. Attach it to your bag or backpack and enjoy going out together.
SpinosaurusSpinosaurus
Classification: Saurischia/Theropoda/Spinosauridae
Size: 13-15 meters in length
Period: Late Early to Late Cretaceous
Its most prominent feature is the "sail" on its back, which could reach 1.8m in height, believed to have been used for thermoregulation, intimidating enemies, and attracting mates. It has distinct characteristics different from other theropods, such as relatively straight teeth and an elongated jaw shape. Fossil specimens excavated in 1912 were lost in an air raid during World War II, causing research to stall, but recently excavated fossils suggest the possibility of a semi-aquatic lifestyle, similar to crocodiles.
Interview with Supervisor Hirokazu Tokugawa
- The dinosaurs that have been part of the Favorite "Stuffed Model" plush series are now available as "Dinosaur Stuffed Model Mini Mascots," approximately 15cm in size. First, please tell us your overall impression of the series.
- From the beginning, I had hoped that if we were going to challenge ourselves to turn dinosaurs into plush toys, there would also be a mascot size that people could attach to their bags and enjoy more intimately. I am very happy that this wish has come true.
- With the mini mascots, we tried to retain as many of the dinosaur characteristics that were important in the regular-sized products as possible, while miniaturizing them. I imagine that the impression changes as the size gets smaller. Compared to the regular-sized products, what differences do you perceive?
- When the size becomes smaller, the design constraints become greater than with the regular-sized products. Therefore, it was necessary to make the design emphasize the characteristics of each dinosaur more, and we re-examined the fabric and pile length to achieve this expression. I believe we were able to create a cute design that still captures the characteristics of each dinosaur, which is different from the regular-sized products.
- Finally, please give a message to those who will be picking up these mini mascots.
- Among the participants in my dinosaur workshops and lectures, and those visiting museums and dinosaur exhibitions, many people wear dinosaur merchandise on their bags and backpacks. I would be very happy if these mini mascots could also join their collection as an item to wear when attending such dinosaur events.
