Dinosaurs and ancient creature plushies that are more than just "cute"
This Pteranodon plushie is adorably deformed, yet packed with distinctive features like large wings and a crest extending from the back of its head. The partially movable wings and neck allow for a wider range of enjoyment, whether posing for play or display.
PteranodonPteranodon

Interview with Supervisor Hirokazu Tokugawa
- Five new types of dinosaurs and ancient creatures have been added to the "Stuffed Model" series of Favorite's plush toys. First, please tell us your overall impression of the completed new works.
- Each of these five new additions had different characteristics that we wanted to express as plush toys, so the design process presented different challenges than the first five. Additionally, this time we've included two ancient creatures other than dinosaurs: Mosasaurus and Pteranodon. Therefore, I believe that by lining up all ten types, including the first five, we've expanded the design range of the entire model and better expressed the "Favorite" brand.
- As with the previous installment, Mr. Tokugawa oversaw a wide range of aspects, from creating the base illustrations to expressing the characteristics of dinosaurs and ancient creatures. Could you please highlight any "particular points ofこだわり" or "must-see features" for each dinosaur?
- When the wings are spread horizontally, they tend to appear two-dimensional. So, with ideas from everyone at Favorite, we added a core material to the arms and neck, allowing for pose changes. I believe this has increased the realism and made it a truly Favorite product.
- Regarding the coloring, as with the previous work, it is unified with calming color schemes that naturally blend into everyday spaces. When considering the colors for each dinosaur, please tell us if there were any images or motifs that you were particularly conscious of.
- I chose yellow because it gives a light, airy impression, like something flying, and also has a cute appeal. The color for the area above the eyes, which serves as an accent, was difficult to decide, and after consulting with everyone at Favorite, we arrived at the current color. It was a better color than what I initially proposed, and I was very happy when I saw the prototype.
- Finally, please give a message to those who will pick up this Stuffed Model.
- I thought that with the experience of product development from the first series, the second series would proceed smoothly, but it was unexpectedly challenging. I was once again reminded of the wide variety of dinosaur and ancient creature forms and the difficulty of designing them as plush toys. Nevertheless, it was just as enjoyable a process this time as it was before. I would be very happy if you find your favorite among these five new types.
