In October 1994, a total of six dinosaur footprints were discovered in Otari Village from the Kuruma Formation (Early Jurassic, approximately 200 million years ago) in the Kitani-Tozawa basin. Based on their morphology, these footprints are believed to belong to a small theropod, representing the oldest dinosaur fossils found in Japan.
This summer, the "oldest dinosaurs in Japan" that once roamed Otari Village will be revived in Tsugaike!
