From the Chibanian-era strata (774,000 to 129,000 years ago) spread throughout Chiba Prefecture, various fossils have been discovered, including the extinct world's largest Steller's sea cow, many whales, and three species of elephants. This exhibition gathers fossils of ancient creatures from the Chibanian Sea and land, introducing what the Chibanian era was like.
