Do you know the largest land creature in Earth's history?
It belongs to a group of dinosaurs called "Sauropods". Sauropods are characterized by their long necks, tails, and large bodies. Argentinosaurus, in particular, is said to be one of the largest dinosaurs in the world, measuring over 30-35m in length and weighing over 80-100 tons. Sauropod fossils have also been discovered in Tanba City and named "Tambatitanis amicitiae" (commonly known as Tanba-ryu). While its length of over 10m is not particularly large among sauropods, it is still considered one of the largest in Japan. Come and explore how Tambatitanis was discovered, what characteristics led to its identification as a new genus and species, and trace the origins and secrets of gigantism of these "BIGs" (Sauropods) by comparing them with other sauropods.
