1
First Ever at the National Museum of Nature and Science!
Special Exhibition Themed "The Big Five"

This is the first special exhibition at the National Museum of Nature and Science to trace the history of life's evolution through "The Big Five." It is also the first special exhibition on the entire history of life in 10 years. All paleontologists and volcanologists at the National Museum of Nature and Science have collaborated to present the latest research on "The Big Five."

2
Dynamic Exhibition Presentation!

A large globe, the "Great Extinction Sphere," will greet visitors at the venue. The "Great Extinction Sphere" is a spherical video display introducing "The Big Five" in Earth's history. In addition, a model that allows visitors to experience volcanic activity, which was a cause of the largest extinction in history, will also be exhibited.

3
Specimens never before seen in Japan arriving from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science!
Other rare specimens from Japan, shown to the world for the first time!

We will introduce numerous valuable specimens from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, one of the leading natural history museums in the United States. From Japan, we will present the world's first full-body fossil of Steller's sea cow, approximately 6 meters long, along with many other valuable specimens that unravel "The Big Five" and the history of life.

4
Introducing the results of excavation surveys in Morocco!

For this exhibition, excavation surveys were conducted in Morocco, a region closely related to mass extinctions. We will present, for the first time in the world, the Fezouata biota, which offers a glimpse into the Ordovician world, as well as collected specimens such as trilobites, and the results of investigations into volcanic activity related to the Triassic-Jurassic extinction event.
