It is widely known that fossils of an Allosaurus and a Stegosaurus fighting have actually been discovered. A scene from the age of dinosaurs remains as a fossil today, and by unraveling it, various scenarios can be seen. At Favorite, that scene has been modeled in the "Allosaurus vs. Stegosaurus Mini Model," bringing that scenario to life. This is a meticulously crafted model that, at the request of sculptor and supervisor Mr. Araki, recreates the scene "after the battle." This time, I'd like to go back in time to "before the battle begins" and create a diorama with houseplants and mini models.

The plants used are houseplants for寄せ植え (yoseue, mixed planting) that can be purchased for around 100 to 300 yen. To create a natural look with varying heights, I chose tall, short, and fern-like plants that resemble a forest and would scale well with dinosaurs. The overall composition envisions a small forest in the back, with a beast's path in the foreground. By considering the story (scenario) beforehand and using sketches or reference books, the layout can be determined smoothly.

First, temporarily arrange the plants while observing the overall balance. Don't forget to secure space for placing the figures. It creates a better balance to place taller plants in the back and shorter ones in the front. Once the layout is confirmed, plant them firmly. Finally, place the dinosaurs and it's complete. The moment you combine them with dinosaurs is the most blissful. You can't help but grin.

The Allosaurus is set to be lurking in the forest, so the layout is designed to be difficult to spot with the naked eye. While it's tempting to make it stand out, I prioritized realism to complete the piece.

If you plant them normally, they are just ordinary houseplants. But by adding a little story and displaying figures, a small world is born. Isn't this one way to enjoy the world of dinosaurs?
