Flounder have a thin, flat body, a large mouth, and sharp, imposing teeth.
They are highly piscivorous and will use their entire body to pounce on their target from the seabed when hunting, moving surprisingly quickly.
They respond well to lures and are a popular target for lure fishing on the surf.
＼Flounder Metamorphosis!?／
When flounder first hatch, their eyes are on both sides of their head, just like other fish.
As they grow, they undergo metamorphosis (a change in form), and their right eye begins to move to the left side.
