Tarbosaurus

One of the largest dinosaurs in the Tyrannosauridae family, it lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period. Its skull is narrower than that of Tyrannosaurus rex. Additionally, because its head was narrow from left to right, it is believed that its eyes did not face forward, making it unable to perceive depth. Due to its similar size and shape, there is a persistent theory that it belongs to the same genus as Tyrannosaurus, but this is rejected by many scholars because of its slightly smaller body, its skull being only two-thirds as wide, and its shorter forelimbs.

The Tyrannosaurus of Asia

The Tarbosaurus, one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs in Asia, with the majority of specimens discovered in Mongolia's Gobi Desert. Sometimes called the "Tyrannosaurus of Asia," it reigned as the king of Asia. As it is a close relative of Tyrannosaurus, its appearance is very similar, but the Tarbosaurus is generally more slender.

Degenerate Forelimbs

Like Tyrannosaurus, the small forelimbs of Tarbosaurus had only two fingers. Compared to its body size, it was the smallest among the Tyrannosauridae family and had degenerated further.

Mongolia and Dinosaurs

The Gobi Desert in Mongolia is known as one of the leading sources of dinosaur fossils. In addition to Tarbosaurus, it has yielded fossils that continue to fascinate researchers, such as the "fighting dinosaurs" (Protoceratops and Velociraptor locked in combat) and Deinocheirus, with its enormous arms measuring up to 2.4 meters long and equipped with claws.
