Vol. 8: The Full Scope of the Hihokan - Part Two: Buried in Junk
As a collector, it's natural to meticulously arrange precious collections, add captions, and even create a catalog to prevent their dispersal after death (!?). Of course, I'd love to do that, but sadly, due to my laziness, I haven't touched a single one of them.
On the other hand, I have a desire to fill my room with junk, and that goal is steadily progressing without question. The inspiration for this is the room of the famous dinosaur collector and cartoonist, Hisakuni Hiko, which I had the pleasure of visiting before. Hisa's studio, which must be over 12 tatami mats, could only accommodate about 4 people, and once you carefully stepped over the items on the floor to reach your spot, you couldn't move. The entire room was filled with collections (not just dinosaurs), and I remember feeling strangely comfortable being buried in it all. I can't even imagine cleaning it, so there's a risk of finding mummified cats in there.
Anyway, the stars of today's show are the cheap dinosaurs, bought in bulk, that are filling my room. I can't help but buy any dinosaur I see, so I've accumulated a lot of these insignificant items. It's only a matter of time before they cover the floor...
One section of the wall has become a candy store. Besides various figures (or rather, toys), there are dinosaur air pumps for aquariums, dinosaur band-aids, water guns, toothbrushes, dog chews, balloons, dinosaur-shaped hooks, bath stickers, and anything else you can imagine.
Several drawers are packed with small dinosaurs that rarely see the light of day.
The photo below is a part of the nostalgic toy corner, featuring items made of soft vinyl and the like. There might be some treasures hidden within.
