For Display: Fish Habitat, Vol. 4

The Aqua Fish series features realistic figures of fish living in the wild.

These figures capture beautiful, instantaneous moments as if a photograph of their "dynamic" form has been taken, along with the surrounding scenery.

An alien-like, yokai-like, mysterious figure

Yet, an octopus that has a somewhat charming quality.

Among them, the North Pacific Giant Octopus can grow to 3-5m.

North Pacific Giant Octopus

Classification: Order Octopoda / Family Octopodidae / Genus Enteroctopus

Size: Approximately 300-500cm in body length

Habitat: North of the Tohoku region, North Pacific Ocean, Canada, Alaska

The North Pacific Giant Octopus is the largest octopus in the world, with a very large body and suckers. The largest individual recorded had a body length of 9.1m, and it is also known as the "Great Octopus." It typically has a reddish-brown body color, but it can change to a protective coloration similar to rocks or sandy bottoms to defend itself. It prefers cold waters and inhabits considerably deep areas, using its sharp, large beak-like mouth to crush the shells of crabs and shellfish, which are its prey, and tear apart their flesh to eat.
