Size: 25-30 meters in length
Period: Late Jurassic
A large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Jurassic period. Compared to other sauropods, its front legs were shorter, and its neck and head were positioned closer to the ground. This suggests that it not only fed on treetops but also used its comb-like teeth, which were arranged at the front of its mouth, to strip low-lying vegetation. Its long tail, which accounted for more than half of its body length, consisted of up to 80 caudal vertebrae. It is thought to have swung its tail like a whip to defend itself from carnivorous dinosaurs.
