For Display: Fish Habitat Vol. 5

The Aqua Fish series expresses the appearance of fish living in the wild with realistic figures.
A beautiful momentary scene with the feeling that the "dynamic" form has been captured in a photograph.
Bigfin reef squid are delicious to eat and fun to catch.
And let's not forget their beautiful underwater appearance, which is often overlooked.
Please enjoy the flowing curves of their bodies beautifully expressed in the figures.
This model is inspired by their mysterious swimming in the dark.
I've tried to bring out its charm by giving it a bit of an atmosphere.

【Bigfin Reef Squid】

Bigfin Reef Squid

Classification: Order Teuthida / Family Loliginidae / Genus Sepioteuthis

Size: Mantle length approx. 30-50 cm

Habitat: Temperate waters of the Western Pacific west of Hawaii to the Indian Ocean

Their mantle is wide and rounded, with semicircular fins along its edge. They swim beautifully by undulating these fins. They have excellent eyesight and can see almost all directions except directly behind them. Written in Kanji as "障泥烏賊" (Aoriika), they are called "Aoriika" because their fins resemble the "aori," which is the mudguard part of horse tack. They are a high-end species that are delicious to eat, highly valued in the market, and are known as the "King of Squid."
