Brachiosaurus

ブラキオサウルス

The Brachiosaurus is the largest herbivorous dinosaur for which an almost complete full-body skeleton exists. It has distinctive features that set it apart from other sauropods, such as longer forelimbs than hindlimbs, a sloping back from the shoulders to the hips, and a short tail. Its head is small, with a brain weighing about 150 grams, and weak jaw strength. The nostril area was swollen like a crest, leading to the belief that it once lived in water, using its nose like a snorkel. However, due to the absence of a diaphragm in its chest, which would cause its lungs to collapse under water pressure and prevent breathing, it is now believed to have been terrestrial. Recent research has also revealed that it could not lift its neck vertically because it did not have a large enough heart to pump blood all the way to its head, and due to the shape and articulation of its neck bones.

The Brachiosaurus's forelimbs are longer than its hindlimbs, a characteristic that differentiates it from other sauropods. As a result, its body slopes like a hill from its shoulders to its hips.

It is known as the largest herbivorous dinosaur for which an almost complete full-body skeleton exists. The bones of its limbs and shoulders, which support its heavy weight, are thick and robust.

Long Neck
